A 25-hour production calendar can be mapped out to make a quick-turn 10-15 minute independent short documentary.
The breakdown for that time would be 5 hours of pre-production and planning, 5 hours of administrative tasks (scheduling, outreach, booking travel), 10 hours of shooting time, allowing for three 1-hour interviews and their accompanying 90 minutes for set up and clean up and 3 hour for b-roll filming and 20 hours of post-production editing, including a feedback loop for edits.
Filmmaker will retain copyright on any footage, the final film will be licensed in perpetuity to client for screenings and digital distribution under the organization’s brand. The contract would be for 90 days. After the preliminary 40 hours are exhausted, continued time will be billed at $150 an hour.
